You look good though when waving to your friend! Good luck with the next 7 weeks to the 70.3!macnichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13756849604085886005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1137172801546792811.post-81952108603810249372014-05-01T16:38:34.764-04:002014-05-01T16:38:34.764-04:00Ok, trying to leave another comment. I understand your disappointment as perhaps all your hard work didn't translate into the time goal you wanted. That being said, I have to agree with Gary - you didn't quite you finished!! And in a pretty incredible time. How could you have prepared for the hot conditions with the weather we had is next to impossible. Just think about your 1/2 chilly and how COLD it was!!!! I still remember Silvia running chicago in a heat wave!!!!! enjoy the break, relish in your fitness and know that you have the stubbornness needed to get through tough conditions!!!! However, you know how fit and hard you worked and that is what matters. That plus Gary was right - you didn't give up!!! Congratulations on finishing a tough race with conditions that you couldn't prepare for. The 1/2 chilly is testimony to running in the COLD. I remember Silvia and Fred ran Chicago in a heat wave in October and they were pulled off the course. Crazy. And pretty remarkable that you finished in the time you did. Crazy. My speed work is your race pace....how crazy is that!!!! Boston has chewed me up twice. I love how you describe the time before the race...gives me goosebumps to think about the moment of silence, and chills thinking about 50 mins in portapotty line. I prefer the portapotties near the start, not so crowded! Anyway, glad you were able to be there and support Boston!Alison @ racingtaleshttp://racingtales.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1137172801546792811.post-31850443728344900882014-04-30T20:07:47.534-04:002014-04-30T20:07:47.534-04:00So proud of you for not giving it. The determination to push through and add only single digit minutes to your time on such an incredibly difficult course when that course makes people SUFFER for any weakness, is incredible. Sometimes it's reading about the races that don't go as planned and as hoped that inspire me most of all. This is when runners truly shine: When they will themselves, despite every reason to the contrary, to just keep going. Congratulations on another Boston ~ a brilliant achievement in itself.
